Pastured Chicken

At Wholesome Pastures, our chickens are raised on pasture enjoying their instinctual foraging practices - scratching the soil and searching for insects and plants that suit their taste. They are only raised spring-fall.

Our birds arrive as day olds and are grown in small flocks, allowing us to focus on their health over the summer months and moving them across the pasture within the safety of open air chicken huts - keeping them safe from predators but, allowing them access to the fresh air and ground to eat the natural grasses and grubs. 

The rotational movements of their enclosures allows them to naturally fertilize the ground below.

Our birds are processed within an hour drive and we take back the usually-unwanted pieces and create what dogs are meant to eat - single ingredient dog treats and the dogs love 'em!

They never receive antibiotics, artificial growth hormones or steroids.

They are typically 4-7lbs
